2021 Summer Internship - Vendor Management Analysis Intern

The Nasdaq Futures Internship Program provides successful candidates with a unique opportunity to experience a challenging and immersive 10-week internship. As participants in the Nasdaq Futures Internship Program, you will deliver real, impactful work within a business unit. You will work on a defined project and partner with a mentor, network with senior colleagues and present your project at the end of the program. You will also participate in learning & development opportunities as well as “lunch and learn” sessions with senior leaders.

Our Team
Our team manages multiple functions within Nasdaq. Primarily this role will be to participate in a new music and storytelling based project. The project will culminate into a documentary / virtual music event produced by the Nasdaq band NLX (No Latency eXperience). The event is planned for the summer in 2021 which will include interviews with Nasdaq employees, Nasdaq musicians, Live performance editing, working with members of Little Kids Rock, members of partnership companies, members and supporters of Gender Amplified and more. The event will also include a new song developed by NLX which requires a virtual studio mixing collaboration with the band of 10 musicians. The design and layout of the project will be ready by the time the intern starts at Nasdaq on June 7th

As time allows, the Intern will be introduced to activities conducted virtually at our “MarketSite” in Times Square. The MarketSite is used to conduct virtual events for Nasdaq customers. This includes market open, market close and Initial Public Offerings (IPO) events. These events require virtual engineering, video and audio engineering and other software controls that are being updated and refreshed on a weekly basis.

The MarketSite activities also focus on collaboration technology options. This can include Zoom, Teams and other software. We will be supporting the MarketSite A/V team and will be managing new virtual projects that connect audio and video streams to our global headquarters to support multiple events.  Additionally, depending on the status of returning to the office, there may be Nasdaq Broadcast options to support. This would include hands on Master Board management. Support for media video and audio streaming/routing. Supporting live broadcasts on networks such as Fox, Bloomberg, Facebook and LinkedIn. However, due to the impact of Covid-19, it is highly likely that the Nasdaq Broadcast options will not be an available. The music event and other MarketSite A/V activities will be available from a remote control standpoint.

Your Role
The major areas of responsibility will be to help our team ensure our NLX summer event is successful. This will require that all video and audio components are engineered and packaged into a schedule that adapts to our live broadcast. This event will be a Nasdaq company event along with aspects of fund raising for Little Kids Rock and visibility for Gender Amplified. Regarding the other MarketSite activities, this will vary from day to day depending on the production schedule. For the summer of 2021, it will most likely include a virtual role which will limit the activities to laptop connected management of devices. It will also be limited to activities that need to be controlled remotely.
